FONDA - A Fort Plain businessman pleaded guilty in Montgomery County Court last week to engaging in a sexual act with a 13-year-old boy.
Dennis J. Todd, 63, of 24 Willett St., Fort Plain, pleaded guilty March 29.
Todd's sentencing is scheduled for May 22. He could receive seven years in state prison and 10 years of post-release supervision.
Todd, the chief executive officer of Old Fort Plaza in Fort Plain and owner of Dennis' Daylight Donuts in Fort Plain, was arrested last August and charged with a criminal sexual act with the boy after a yearlong investigation.
Todd also has been charged in other incidents over the past year.
He was charged with first-degree assault in an incident in which Todd allegedly struck a man with a baseball bat on Aug. 16.
Fort Plain police charged Todd with criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and harassment after Todd allegedly threatened a TV news crew last year.
In December, Todd was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, leaving the scene of an accident and failing to keep right. Also in December, he was accused of hiding a person wanted on a warrant under a blanket in his vehicle. Todd was charged with obstructing government administration in that case.
