Police: Man sold rifle for crack

GLEN - State police said an Amsterdam man was arrested after taking a rifle and selling it for crack cocaine.

Michael E. Gleason, 42, of Amsterdam was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony.

Troopers said Gleason was at his employer's store - Phoenix of Time pawn store, 4674 Route 30 - March 20 when he took a rifle and drove to Schenectady. Troopers said Gleason met a man in Schenectady and sold the rifle to him for crack cocaine.

Gleason was released with an appearance ticket for Amsterdam Town Court.
