JOHNSTOWN - The Fulton County Planning Department has been helping the village of Northville and town of Northampton seek grant funding for a building.
"We have been working with the village of Northville on an efficiency grant application," department Director James Mraz said earlier this week.
Mraz said the Planning Department prepared and submitted an application for a state Local Government Efficiency Grant for the construction of a shared village of Northville and town of Northampton cold storage building.
Also for Northampton, Mraz said his department prepared and submitted a Public Facilities Infrastructure Pre-Submission Grant application to the Mohawk Valley Regional Economic Development Council for a Sacandaga Park Sewer System upgrade project.
In related news, he said the county has been assisting various towns with their proposed comprehensive plans.
For the town of Mayfield, Mraz said, his department attended a comprehensive plan committee meeting and public hearing on a revised draft comprehensive plan.
The county also met with the Comprehensive Plan Commission chairman in Perth on March 15 to outline amendments that have been made to the document and still need to be made before a draft plan can be released.
Mraz said all of the chapters for the Perth plan have been drafted.
He said committee members in the next two months will finalize language in each chapter and begin inserting photographs, maps and charts into the document.
In Ephratah, Mraz said, his department attended comprehensive plan meetings in February and March, and a first draft of the plan was prepared.
