Michael C. Miller, 89, of Johnstown, N.Y., passed away on March 26, 2013, at Wells House Nursing Home. He was born March 14, 1924, in Johnstown, N.Y., the son of Elton and Anna Connolly Miller.
He was a graduate of Johnstown High School and was employed from 1951 until 1986 as a machinist at General Electric in Schenectady, N.Y.
He was of the Catholic faith and was a member and past president of the Johnstown Eagles; a member of the Johnstown Moose; was a lifetime member of the Concordia Singing Society and the Johnstown VFW.
During WWII, Mr. Miller served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater.
Mr. Miller was first united in marriage to the former Shirley Blanchard, whom he married on June 28, 1947, and she passed away on Sept. 4, 1972. On July 28, 1973, he married the former Constance Russell, who passed away on Feb. 27, 2001.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Jeanne A. (Brian Dunn) Miller of Gloversville; and a son, Michael E. (Bernice) Miller of Ocala, Fla. He is also survived by a sister, Teresa Hansen of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Diana Vanessa and Kimberly Yaun of Connecticut; and grandchildren, Michele Monty (with special thanks), Gayle Gose, Alaine Burke, Michael T. Miller, Derek Miller and Bryan Miller; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and six stepgrandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Nancy L. Billa; three brothers; and two sisters. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. Cremation took place at Leatherstocking Crematory, Cherry Valley, N.Y.
