JOHNSTOWN - The Fulton County YMCA will celebrate Healthy Kids Day on April 6 with a free community event that encourages youths to get moving and learning, and families to live healthier, a news release said.
Healthy Kids Day, the YMCA's national initiative to improve families' health and well-being, takes place at 1,900 YMCAs.
"At the Fulton County Y, we know parents struggle to keep their kids physically and intellectually active every day. We want to help ensure fewer kids are at risk of childhood obesity and more kids excel in school," Fulton County YMCA?CEO Steve Serge said in the news release. "Our Healthy Kids Day will get kids moving and learning while also helping families get a jump on creating a healthier summer, and ultimately a healthier future."
The Fulton County YMCA's Healthy Kids Day activities will take place April 6 at the YMCA from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Educational activities and a bicycle safety event will be among the activities.
Healthy Kids Day is supported by the Johnstown Holiday Inn, Steet Toyota, Eagle Chevrolet and Ruby and Quiri, the news release said.
