Nancy Margaret Samrov

Nancy Margaret Samrov was called home to be with the Lord on March 15, 2013. She was born November 13, 1943, in Gloversville, N.Y., to the late Frank and Vola Samrov.

Nancy attended and graduated from the Gloversville School District.

She spent many years traveling and returned to Gloversville in 1973. Nancy was employed for many years at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital as a respiratory therapist.

Nancy was married to James Cronin on March 5, 1977, and she was a mother and homemaker for many years until returning to work in the leather industry.

Nancy was a senior companion for Lexington Center, retiring due to illness in October 2012.

She is survived by her son, Stephen A. Samrov of Gloversville; and her daughter, Carrie M. Ahrens (Luke) of Johnstown, N.Y.; her three siblings, Frank Samrov Jr. (Kim), Richard J. Samrov (JoAnn), Mark S. Lewis (Melissa), all of Gloversville.

She also is survived by her uncle, Tom King of Sherburne, N.Y.; aunt, Connie King of Fort Worth, Texas; several nieces and nephews; a special daughter-in-law, Deborah Samrov; her dear cousin, Carol Harper; her pets: (dogs) Sabrina and Betsy; (cat) Baby Girl.

Nancy is also survived by five grandchildren that she loved dearly, Stephen Jr., Shane and Natasha Samrov, all of Gloversville, and Luke Jr. and Molly Ahrens of Johnstown.

She is survived by one great-granddaughter, Isabella Cozzolino of Gloversville.

Nancy was predeceased by a brother, Russell Fosmire; her mother and father; her uncle, Harry King; her aunts, Lucy Dingman and Lila Main. She was also predeceased by an infant grandson, Sean Samrov.

A memorial service will be held at the Gloversville Funeral Service, 4 Second Avenue, between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013.

A reception will be held at the V.F.W. in Fonda.
