GILBOA-State Police in Cobleskill said a Northville man was one of two people charged Friday after troopers found a burglary in progress in town.

William A. Person, 41, of Reed Street, Northville, and Wendy J. Ryan, 52, Huntersland Road, Middleburgh, were charged with second-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief.

Police said Troopers Jason Seaman and Mark DeMichele found the pair in possession of a flatscreen TV, a DVD player, a tool box and copper pipes at 1:55 a.m. Friday outside a home on Potter Mountain Road. Police said Person and Ryan entered the home, taking the electronics and tool box, before entering a crawl space and removing the copper pipes, destroying the house's heating system.

Police said Person was arraigned in the Cobleskill Town Court and sent to the Schoharie County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.

Ryan was released on her own recognizance.
