Shirley May

Shirley raised her family in Mayfield where she relished the area's splendors. She loved gardening in the spring, the lake in the summer and cross-country skiing and snow machining in the winter, always, with her children by her side. Her heart was always full of love and her cookie jar was always full of homemade treats. She was an active member of the Mayfield community and the Mayfield Methodist Church for many years. She especially enjoyed being a long-term member of the church choir. Later in life, she became a member of the Bleecker Community Church.

Shirley certainly enjoyed her life and her family. She always looked forward to her biweekly card club with her cousins, her numerous vacations with her children and her weekly lunch dates with her friends. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on March 10 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a service will follow at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Kathy L. Reese officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at Union Rural Cemetery, Mayfield.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Bleecker Community Church, 503 County Highway 112, Gloversville, NY 12078 or to the American Diabetes Association, 2 Pinewest Plaza, Suite 204, Albany, NY 12205.
