FFCS boys lose to Catskill, 79-58

CATSKILL- Will Turner hit four 3-pointers en route to his game-high 33-point performance, but it wasn't enough as fourth-seeded Catskill ran its record to 18-1 on the season with a 79-58 win over Fonda-Fultonville in the first round of the Class B Tournament on Tuesday.

The Cats broke open a tie game with a 20-9 second quarter and kept the 13th-seeded Braves in check to advance to the Class B quarterfinals.

Kyle Lyles led Catskill with 21 points, while Nigel Gray hit six 3-pointers in his 20-point effort and Jordan Brantley finished with 17.

Fonda-Fultonville finished with season with a 7-12 overall record.

Catskill will face fifth-seeded Cohoes in Friday's quarterfinals at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy at 6:30 p.m.

Cohoes topped No. 12 seed Taconic Hills, 70-52, on Tuesday.
