Eleanor Hope Tretola of Johnstown, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2013, surrounded by her loved ones at home after a long battle with cancer.
She was born on March 20, 1938, in White Haven, Pa., daughter of the late Joseph Hartley and Christine DeRoker Hartley. She attended Johnstown Schools.
She was married to Francis (Buddy) Tretola until his passing in 1997.
She is survived by: her seven children, Christina (George) Cotton of Johnstown, Joseph Tretola of Sammonsville, Nathan Tretola (Pat Riley) of Missouri, Gena (Stewart) Bellinger of Sprakers, Mary Martish (Ken Frasier) of Johnstown, Brian Tretola of Gloversville, and Joann (Paul) Muto of Alabama; fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; one sister, Donna (Dave) Stromberg of Ohio.
She was predeceased by her brother, John (Jack) Hartley.
Eleanor was a nanny to the Cannizzo and Queeney children who she loved as her own until her retirement.
There will be no calling hours.
A graveside service will be conducted in the spring at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Johnstown.
