Girls Basketball Roundup: Glens Falls tops Johnstown

GLENS FALLS - Meresa Mason finished with 21 points to lead Glens Falls to a 54-45 win over Johnstown in a Foothills Council girls basketball game Monday.

Skylar Girard added 18 points for the Indians (10-7 overall, 7-5 Foothills), who outscored the Lady Bills 17-7 in the second quarter on their way to the win.

Emma Heroth scored 17 points to lead Johnstown (9-8 overall, 4-7 Foothills).

Hope Cerasuolo and Brianne O'Rourke each scored 12 points for the Lady Bills.

QUEENSBURY - Aisling McAllister scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Queensbury past Scotia-Glenville.

The win clinched the Foothills Council title for the Spartans for the first time since the 1990-91 season.

Jill Davis scored nine points and had 19 rebounds for Queensbury (13-4 overall, 8-3 Foothills), while Lorissa Reodriguez added six steals and five rebounds.

Nicole Conley scored 11 points for Scotia-Glenville (8-10 overall, 6-6 Foothills).

HUDSON FALLS - A power failure forced the postponement of Monday's Foothills Council game between Hudson Falls and Broadalbin-Perth.

The game was rescheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Hudson Falls.

SARATOGA SPRINGS - Natalie Pikus scored 15 points to lead Saratoga Central Catholic to a WAC crossover win over St. Johnsville.

Kaylie Fish finished with 12 points for Saratoga Catholic (7-11 overall)

Rylie Smith scored 16 points to lead St. Johnsville (2-15 overall), while Jessi Hagadorn added 13.

St. Johnsville will host Richfield Springs today in a non-league contest at 7:30 p.m.

WELLS - The Wells girls basketball team had its home game with Willsboro postponed Monday. The Mountain and Valley Athletic game was rescheduled for Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in Wells.
