I am not from Gloversville but read The Leader-Herald and have friends and relatives who live in Gloversville.
I have been following the story about the man who wanted to be reimbursed for buying a sign for the ice rink. It sounds as if the mayor is saying anyone can purchase something for the city and have the Common Council pay for it with taxpayer funds.
I think they need more decorations for the different seasons, so can I just go purchase them and have the city pay me?
It seems there are procedures in place for purchases. The mayor and his friend do not want to follow them for some reason.
Are they also adhering to laws regarding donations when they are collecting these donations?
