H.S. Bowling Roundup: Cougars clinch WAC crown

SARATOGA SPRINGS - Bailey Pitonza rolled a 213-629 to lead Canajoharie to a 4-0 win over Saratoga Central Catholic in a Western Athletic Conference boys bowling match at Saratoga Strike Zone on Wednesday.

The win clinched the Western Athletic Conference title for the Cougars.

Chris Parino posted a 228-623 for the Cougars, while Mike Bowman added a 212-591.

Jake Pelagalli rolled a 227-586 to lead Saratoga Catholic, while Charlie Cusano posted a 215-561.

Canajoharie finished with a 2,972-2,526 advantage in total pins.

Fort Plain 3, Schoharie 1

CANAJOHARIE - Drew Fureno finished with a 183-473 to lead Fort Plain to a Western Athletic Conference win over Schoharie at Iroquois Lanes.

Zach Reese posted a 170-453 for the Hilltoppers, while Aaron Honeywell recorded a high game of 191.

Perry Lawyer finished with a 206-558 to lead Schoharie, while Makayla Williams added a 189-472.

Fort Plain finished with a 2,211-2,179 advantage in total pins.

Broadalbin-Perth 4, Gloversville 0

AMSTERDAM - Cody Husek posted a 238-609, leading Broadalbin-Perth to a sweep of Gloversville at Kelly's Imperial Bowling Center.

Jordan Holik registered a 233-664 for the Patriots, while Chris Smith added a 230-591.

Ben Vannostrand rolled a 238-614 to lead Gloversville, while Andy McManus posted a 199-559. Devon Davis added a 201-544 for the Huskies.

B-P finished with a 3,378-2,866 advantage in total pins.

Johnstown 3, Hudson Falls 1

JOHNSTOWN - Morgan Ruggeri rolled games of 264 and 237 on her way to a 679 series as Johnstown topped Hudson Falls at Perry Lanes.

Jim Marshall posted a 242-642 for the Sir Bills, while Jay Hadcock registered a 247-617. Alyssa Hadcock added a 183-492 for Johnstown.

Brandon Boyer led Hudson Falls with a 227-599, while Tyler Colton posted a 183-529. Brian Barrett recorded a 211-526 for the Tigers, while Kobey Boyer added a 188-512.

Johnstown finished with a 3,367-3,159 advantage in total pins.

CBA 5, Amsterdam 2

COLONIE - Kyle Adams rolled a 225-623 to lead Christian Brothers Academy to a win over Amsterdam.

Billy McGaffin posted a 247-639 to lead Amsterdam, while Jake Cetnar added a 232-629.

CBA finished with a 3,260-3,181 advantage in total pins.

Courtney Cyr added a 113-295 for the Lady Cougars, who finished with a 1,574-1,483 advantage in total pins.
