Winter weather wipes out schedule

Winter weather wiped out all the area varsity sports contests scheduled for Monday with many of the games being played today.

Monday's boys basketball game between the Gloversville Huskies and the Johnstown Sir Bills will be played at 7:30 p.m. today at Johnstown High School. Also, the Broadalbin-Perth Patriots will travel to Scotia-Glenville today for a 7:30 pm. game. The Wells boys basketball game against Johnsburg will be played at 6:30 p.m. today and the Dolgeville Blue Devils will host Rome Catholic at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 11.

Two girls basketball games also were postponed.

The Amsterdam Lady Rams will host the Johnstown Lady Bills at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and the St. Johnsville Lady Saints' game at Richfield Springs does not have a makeup date as of press time.

Both volleyball matches were postponed to today.

The Dolgeville Blue Devils will host Little Falls at 7 p.m. today and St. Johnsville/Oppenheim-Ephratah will host Remsen at 7 p.m. today.

The Johnstown alpine skiing team's trip to the Saratoga Invitational at Willard Mountain has been postponed. The meet was rescheduled for Thursday at 5 p.m. at West Mountain in Queensbury.

Six bowling matches also were been postponed. Broadalbin-Perth will host Glens Falls at 4:15 p.m. today at Imperial Lanes and Canajoharie will host Middleburgh at 4:15 p.m. today at Iroquois Lanes.

Gloversville's match at Hudson Falls was rescheduled for Monday.

Fort Plain will travel to Berne-Knox-Westerlo on Thursday and Amsterdam's match with Schenectady was rescheduled for Thursday.

Johnstown's match at Queensbury was rescheduled for today.

The Fonda-Johnstown at Albany boys swim meet was postponed as well and rescheduled for Feb. 4 at 4:30 p.m.
