Robert ‘Bob’ Fiorello

Robert "Bob" Fiorello, 67, passed away at home Wednesday, January 16, 2013.

Bob was born on February 12, 1945, in Gloversville, to the late Peter and Filomena (Phyllis) Ricciardi Fiorello. He graduated from Gloversville High School in 1963 and married Patricia (Patti) Young in 1966.

Bob served in the Army National Guard as a Medical Specialist 4th from 1964 through 1970. He was co-owner of L and B's Marine Aquarium in Gloversville and Sea-Life Aquatics and Tropical Fish in Fonda during the 1970s. During the 1980s he served as a part-time Fulton County Deputy Sheriff. He was a steamfitter for General Electric for over 30 years until his retirement in 1997.

In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his wife, Patti. Survivors include: his two sons, Robert Fiorello Jr. (Ann) of Gloversville and Dayne K. Fiorello of Flushing, N.Y.; his brother, Peter Fiorello Jr. (Sharon) of Mayfield; his sister, Janice Gramps and her partner, Mr. Jan Wienoski of Madison Heights, Mich.; his best friend and cousin, Richard Ricciardi of Johnstown; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Bob loved the outdoors. In his earlier years he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and developed a passion and talent for photographing Adirondack wildlife in its natural setting. Bob loved animals, especially his dog, Mooki, and macaw, Dea. He was a member of the Pine Tree Rifle Club and the NRA.

At Bob's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to the James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Road, Gloversville, NY 12078, or to a charity of your choice.
