Boys Basketball Roundup: Mayfield loses to Mekeel Christian

SCOTIA - Caleb Stewart finished with 29 points to lead Mekeel Christian Academy to a 65-40 win over Mayfield in a Western Athletic Conference boys basketball game Wednesday.

The Panthers led 19-7 after one quarter, but the Lions outscored Mayfield 22-4 in the second quarter to take a 29-23 halftime lead. Mekeel Christian outscored the Panthers 36-17 in the second half to seal the win.

Marquan Newman scored 13 points for Mekeel Christian (10-2 overall).

Ryan Hennessy scored 14 points to lead Mayfield (7-7 overall), while Dylan Toscano added nine points.

ST. JOHNSVILLE - Conner Brown finished with a game-high 26 points to lead Schoharie to a win over St. Johnsville.

James Sacket registered 14 points for the Indians (9-3 overall), while Evan Ottman added 10 points.

Alex Hart scored 13 points to lead St. Johnsville (7-6 overall), while Johnny Vicciarelli finished with 11 points. Ricky Jasewicz and Kyle Smith each scored 10 points for the Saints.
