Paul Edward Bruse

Paul Edward Bruse, 72, of Gloversville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 13, 2013, at home, after a long illness, with his loving partner, "Trish" at his side.

Mr. Bruse was born on June 21, 1940, at home in Gloversville, New York, son of the late Florence and Paul Bruse.

Mr. Bruse was a lifelong resident of Gloversville. Upon graduating from Gloversville High School he joined the United Sates Navy. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1962 after serving four years. He then moved back to Gloversville where he became employed by General Electric, which he retired from in 2001.

Mr. Bruse enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with family.

Mr. Bruse is survived by his partner, Patricia Van Heusen of Gloversville; his children, Paul Bruse Jr. of Johnstown, Christopher Bruse (Cody Jean) of Mayfield, Cheri Lawson (Dave) of Glens Falls; his brothers, Michael Bruse of Gloversville, David Bruse (Margaret) of Northport, Florida; a sister, Diane Perna (Tony); an aunt, Edna Keller of Gloversville; his grandchildren, Jordan and Mason Bruse of Gloversville, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends that also survive.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, January 20, 2012, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. following the visitation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 3528, Schenectady, NY 12303.
