Carolyn M. Smith, 71, of Second Avenue, Gloversville, died Friday, January 11, 2013, at the Nathan Littauer Nursing Home following a long illness.
She was born in Amsterdam, N.Y., on November 21, 1941, the daughter of the late Arthur and Mildred Fick Lingenfelter. She was a graduate of Broadalbin High School and worked in the office for Grandoe Gloves in Gloversville for a few years.
Carolyn was a former member of the Broadalbin Baptist Church and a member of TOPS of Broadalbin.
Survivors include her husband, Martin Smith of Gloversville; one daughter, Melinda Ellis and her husband, Mike of Gloversville; two grandchildren, Jessica and Kayla Ellis. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. She was predeceased by her brother, Clark Lingenfelter.
Friends may call on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Gloversville Funeral Service, 4 Second Ave., Gloversville. A graveside service will be held in the spring in the Broadalbin-Mayfield Cemetery, Broadalbin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nathan Littauer Nursing Home or the James A.
