Leon W. (Porky) Dorman, 73, of Gloversville, passed away on January 10, 2013, after a long illness.
He was born October 30, 1939, in Gloversville, the son of Jesse (Bill) Dorman and Esther (Bussie) Briggs Dorman, who predeceased him.
Survivors include: two daughters, Tammy (Cynthia Harrigan) Dorman and Julie Dorman; three sons, Don (Kathy) Dorman, William Dorman and David (Susan) Dorman; ten grandchildren; and ex-wife, Ellen Dorman.
Leon is also survived by: brothers, Richard (Marjorie) Dorman, Willard (Claudia) Dorman and Everett Dorman; sister, Carol (Eugene) Strenkowski; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Leon was employed as a leather worker for many years before his retirement. He was a member of the Gloversville Moose Club, the Forresters Club and the Gloversville VFW.
Leon loved to fish, whether deep-sea fishing out of Gloucester, Mass., fresh-water fishing on Lake Ontario or trolling around an Adirondack Lake. When not trying to catch the big one, he enjoyed reading about a wide variety of subjects.
