JOHNSTOWN - The Common Council approved returning one of the city's judges to the bench.
Acting City Court Judge Frederick R. Stortecky was unanimously reappointed to a six-year term at Monday's council meeting. The term began Jan. 1.
Stortecky, who maintains a private law firm on South Market Street, is one of two part-time City Court judges, but he is the only one who is appointed by the council. The other judge, Thomas Walsh, is elected by voters and carries a heavier caseload.
Stortecky's base pay of $27,200 a year is set by state judiciary law.
