Vincent Vezzi

Vincent Vezzi, 92, of Gloversville passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012 with his loving family by his side. Vince was born on December 11, 1920 in Naples, Italy to the late Salvatore and Matilda Gagliarda Vezzi. Vince proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during World War II. On August 8, 1948 he married the late Millicient Eastabrook, they shared 55 wonderful years together until her passing in 2003.

Vince loved being surrounded by his family, and he will be warmly remembered.

He owned and operated Vince's Body Shop in Johnstown, NY, retiring after 28 years. After retirement he worked as the grounds keeper at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown, NY, and in the Produce Department at Price Chopper, Johnstown, NY.

Vince is survived by his children Antoinette Edwards (Mark) of Walrath, NY, Deborah Grant (Robert) of Gloversville, Gloria Daniels (Larry) of Reno, Nevada , Barbara Ringler (Stephen) Lake Luzerne, Janet Lincourt, Ephrath, NY, Vincent Jr., (Rosanne) of Orlando, FL; his grandchildren Aaron Edwards, Robert (Traci) Grant, Aubrey Grant, Ashley Ringler, Jordan and Brandon Lincourt; his great-grandchildren Abbey and Emma Grant; also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Anthony Vezzi and Mary Savarese of Gloversville. He also leaves behind his cat "Chewy" Chewbacca.

Vince's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Wells Nursing Home, St. Mary's Hospital and the William Hall Dialysis Center for their commitment, compassion and care given to their beloved father and grandfather.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 30, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Amico Funeral Home, 150 South Main Street, Gloversville, NY. On Monday, December 31, at 9:30 a.m., a prayer service will be conducted at the Funeral Home, followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Gloversville. Burial will full Military Honors will take place in the spring at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown, NY.

The family has kindly asked in lieu of flowers donations be made in Vince's memory to St. Mary's Hospital, third floor, William Hall, 427 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, NY 12010; Amsterdam Dialysis Center, River Front Center, Amsterdam, NY 12101; American Diabetes Association, 2 West Plaza Suite 204, Albany, NY 12205.
