Frank W. Schelmbauer, age 74, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012. He was born on September 27, 1938, in Gloversville, New York, to the late Louis and Helen Schelmbauer. He is survived by his siblings Joan E. Robbins, of Palm Bay, FL, and John L. Schelmbauer and wife, Pat, of Saratoga Springs, NY; nephews and nieces Lance Robbins (wife Cheryl), Beth Gamble (husband Clark), J.L. Schelmbauer, Lisa Andersson (husband Maths); great nephews and nieces Zachry Robbins, Dylan Robbins, Chelsea Gamble, Zachary Gamble, Michael Schelmbauer, Katie Schelmbauer, John Schelmbauer, Amanda Hapeman, Brian Hapeman; great-great nieces Payton Cunningham-Robbins and Aubrey Gamble-Gallent.
At the age of 25, he joined the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. In 1984, he moved to Palm Bay, FL, where he was employed at Kitchen Designs in Melbourne, FL, as the design manager. After 25 years, he retired and maintained his residence in Palm Bay, FL.
He was of the Lutheran faith and had many interests including sports, trivia and poker. Family and friends will miss his warmth, kindness and sense of humor. The family will hold visitation on Thursday, January 3, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 1001 South Hickory Street, Melbourne, FL.
Frank's funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2013 at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 1001 South Hickory Street, Melbourne, FL.
