Several area sporting events were postponed by Thursday's winter weather.
The opening round of the Gloversville Holiday Tournament was moved to today. Amsterdam will face Mekeel Christian Academy at 6 p.m., while Fonda-Fultonville will face Gloversville at 7:30 p.m.
The championship game is slated for Saturday at 7:30 p.m., while the consolation game will take place at 6 p.m.
The first round of the John Woodward boys basketball tournament at Northville was postponed to today.
Galway will face Doane Stuart at 6 p.m. and Northville will face Duanesburg at 7:30 p.m. The consolation game is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m., while the championship game is set for 3 p.m. on Saturday.
The Mayfield girls basketball team had the consolation and championship games of its holiday tournament postponed to today.
Northville will face Schoharie in the consolation game at 6 p.m., while Mayfield will face Middleburgh in the championship game at 7:30 p.m.
The opening game of the Coach Cutspec boys basketball tournament at St. Johnsville between Dolgeville and Middleburgh was postponed to Jan. 12 at 7:30 p.m.
The Canajoharie boys basketball team was scheduled to host Schoharie in the opening round of the Andy Palmer Tournament. The game was rescheduled for Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
The Fort Plain boys basketball team was scheduled to face host Cooperstown in the opening round of the Dick White Holiday Tournament. The game was postponed to today at 8 p.m. The consolation game is now set for Saturday at 6 p.m., while the championship game is set for Saturday at 8 p.m.
The Broadalbin-Perth girls basketball team had the first round of its tournament postponed to today. Hudson is slated to face Stillwater at 5:30 p.m., while B-P is set to face Canajoharie at 7 p.m. The consolation game is set for 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the championship game is slated for Saturday at 7 p.m.
The Amsterdam girls basketball team had its Holiday Showcase postponed.
The event will begin today at 12:45 p.m. with Amsterdam facing Geneva. Other first-day games will feature Shenendehowa vs. Kingston (2:30 p.m.), Shaker vs. Corcoran (4:15 p.m.), St. Laurent vs. Gates Chili (6 p.m.) and Binghamton vs. Albany (7:45 p.m.)
The second day of the event will take place on Saturday. Games will feature Shenendehowa vs. Corcoran (10:45 a.m.), Shaker vs. Geneva (12:30 p.m.), Kingston vs. Amsterdam (2:15 p.m.), Gates Chili vs. Binghamton (4 p.m.) and Albany vs. St. Laurent at 5:45 p.m.
The St. Johnsville girls basketball team had its non-league contest at Richfield Springs postponed. No make-up date has been determined.
