BROADALBIN - There will be village police officers at Broadalbin-Perth High School for the rest of the week, according to information on the district's website.
The school heard a rumor about a bomb threat, Superintendent Stephen Tomlinson said this morning.
"While we always take such threats seriously, in the wake of last week's horrific events at Sandy Hook, I want to assure parents that we are taking all possible steps to investigate this threat and bring the individuals making the threats to justice," Superintendent Stephen Tomlinson said in the post on the website.
The post said the school worked with local law enforcement agencies to investigate the source and credibility of the rumor.
An update to the post said an investigation determined there is no immediate threat to any school district buildings.
However, police officers will be at the high school for the rest of the week as a precautionary measure.
