Donations sought for storm victims

Glove Cities Veterinary Hospital, Ruby & Quiri and Grandma Millie's Bakery are helping collect supplies to "fill a truck" to bring donations to the victims of Superstorm Sandy.

To participate, people can drop off items at Glove Cities Veterinary Hospital, 35 Harrison St., Gloversville, Ruby & Quiri on Route 30A, Johnstown, or Grandma Millie's Bakery by the Fulton County Airport on Route 67.

Donations will be collected through Jan. 2 and sent to Belle Harbor, Long Island.

Supplies for pets such as dog and cat food and cat litter, are greatly needed, a news release said.

Other everyday supplies needed include:

Baby food, formula.

Diapers\non-perishable food.

Toiletries.

New clothes, especially mittens, scarves and warm jackets for all ages.

New beds, cots linens and pillows.

Cleaning supplies.

Batteries and flashlights.

Gift cards to Lowe's, Walmart, Home depot, Target or other universal gift cards.

Non-fabric furniture (no sofas or upholstered chairs).

No used clothing of any type will be accepted.

Building supplies needed include hammers, sheetrock, plywood, sheetrock nails, tape and spackle.
