Veterans Day Parade was meaningful

December 13, 2012
The Leader Herald

The Gloversville Veterans Day parade committee - Ambrose Anderson, Kenneth Rockwell, Harold Gordon, Linda Bullock, Joni Wilson, Linda Fisher, Karen Dwyer-Smith, Michael Perrella, Brian Perrella, Debbie Finkle, Steve West, Todd Mercer, James Schrader and Robert Perrella - would like to thank everyone who participated in the Gloversville Veterans Day parade and memorial services and everyone who came to the parade and memorial service.

We also thank the numerous individuals, media outlets and groups that help make this event meaningful and successful. There are very few communities that still have a Veterans Day parade.

A special thanks to the Broadalbin American Legion Post 337 and the auxiliary, which served as grand marshals and provided the main speaker, and did the invocation and benediction for the memorial service.

Also, a special thank you to the honorary grand marshal, Ambrose "Cowboy" Anderson, who was recently honored in Washington, D.C., for his service in World War II. He is a member of the committee and a good friend for more than 65 years.
