H.S. Bowling Roundup: Ruggeri rolls 300 for JHS

JOHNSTOWN - Morgan Ruggeri rolled a 300 game to help Johnstown to a 3-1 victory over Queensbury in a Foothills Council bowling match Wednesday at Perry Lanes.

Ruggeri recorded her 300 in the first game and started the second game with six straight strikes for a total of 18 strikes in a row.

Ruggeri finished the second game with a 245 and posted a 234 in the third game for a 779 series.

"It's a pretty great accomplishment," Johnstown coach Sarah Maiello said. "She just goes out and bowls. She had the same reaction all way through. She stayed calm and that's a credit to her skill and work ethic."

Jim Marshall added a 2670671 for the Sir Bills, while Jay Hadcock posted a 230-595. Ben Empie added a 205-575 for Johnstown (16-8 Foothills), which finished with a 3,679-3,333 advantage in total pins.

Matt Schweigardt rolled a 237-673 to lead Queensbury (18-6 Foothills), while Marc Lambert rolled a 224-634. Nate Madison posted a 256-674 for the Spartans, and Shannen Schill added a 227-572.

Hudson Falls 4, Gloversville 0

GLOVERSVILLE - Brandon Boyer posted a 216-616 to lead Hudson Falls to a sweep of Gloversville in a Foothills Council match at Arterial Lanes on Wednesday.

Ethan Kelsey rolled a 219-609 for the Tigers (19-5 Foothills), while Brian Barrett registered a 212-605.

Richard Taylor led Gloversville with a 240-585, while Mike Marotta posted a 233-563. Tim Hoose added a 193-538 for the Huskies, who slipped to 8-16 in Foothills Council play.

Hudson Falls finished with a 3,383-2,970 advantage in total pins.

Glens Falls 3, Broadalbin-Perth 1

SOUTH GLENS FALLS - Justin Jones rolled a 236-600 to lead Glens Falls to a win over Broadalbin-Perth in a Foothills Council match at Spare Time Lanes on Wednesday.

Meghan Ryan posted a 204-592 for Glens Falls (7-17 Foothills), while Ian Dingman registered a 223-556. Derek Daniels added a 189-556 for Glens Falls, which finished with a 3,408-3,331 advantage in total pins.

Cody Husek rolled games of 241, 234 and 211 on his way to a 686 series to lead Broadalbin-Perth (5-19 Foothills), while Jordan Holik added a 237-622. Chris Smith posted a 199-516 for the Patriots, while Dan Guminey added a 193-515.

Hudson Falls 3, Broadalbin-Perth 1

AMSTERDAM - Ethan Kelsey rolled a 277-650 to lead Hudson Falls to a win over Broadalbin-Perth at Kelly's Imperial Bowling Center on Tuesday.

Brandon Boyer posted a 213-613 for the Tigers, Brian Barrett had a 213-604 and Kobey Boyer added a 207-600.

Jordan Holik rolled a 223-609 to lead Broadalbin-Perth, while Chris Smith posted a 215-587. Cody Husek added a 176-519 for the Patriots.

Hudson Falls finished with a 3,425-3,118 advantage in total pins.

Fort Plain 3, Berne-Knox-Westerlo 1

CANAJOHARIE - Aaron Honeywell rolled a 195-549 to lead Fort Plain to a win over Berne-Knox-Westerlo in a Western Athletic Conference match at Iroquois Lanes on Wednesday.

Kyler Duff posted a 191-529 for the Hilltoppers, who finished with a 2,445-2,296 advantage in total pins.

Chris Young rolled a 193-549 to lead Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

Canajoharie 2, Middleburgh 2

MIDDLEBURGH - Bailey Pitonza rolled a high game of 216 on his way to a 616 series to help Canajoharie tie Middleburgh in a Western Athletic Conference match at Middleburgh Lanes on Wednesday.

Mike Bowman posted a 223-596 for the Cougars, who finished with a 2,962-2,928 advantage in total pins.

Morgan Lindsey led Middleburgh with a 246-685, while Adam Warner posted a 232-592.

CBA 4, Amsterdam 3

AMSTERDAM - Zack Terry had a high game of 269 and a 664 series to lead Christian Brothers Academy to a win over Amsterdam at Kelly's Imperial Bowling Center on Wednesday.

Mike Ferrucci posted a 609 series for CBA.

Ben Patrick rolled a 268-634 to lead Amsterdam, while Billy McGrath added a 224-621.

Amsterdam finished the match with a 3,485-3,462 edge in total pins.

Lansingburgh 29, Fonda-Fultonville 3

JOHNSTOWN - Cody Holland rolled a 231-570 series to lead Lansingburgh to a win over Fonda-Fultonville on Friday at Perry Lanes.

Jesse Hayes rolled a 225-531 for FFCS, while Robert O'Kosky posted a 207-531.

Lansingburgh finished with a 3,300-2,675 advantage in total pins

Krista Kazillas posted a 186-482 for the Lady Hilltoppers, who finished with a 1,902-1,639 advantage in total pins.

Middleburgh 4, Canajoharie 0

MIDDLEBURGH - Catherine Duell posted a 179-454 to lead Middleburgh to a sweep of Canajoharie in a Western Athletic Conference match at Middleburgh Lanes.

Brittany Nelson rolled a 174-436 for Middleburgh, which finished with a 2,161-1,593 advantage in total pins.

Kiara Putnam rolled a 148-409 to lead Canajoharie.
