The Leader Herald

GLOVERSVILLE - City police said a man is accused of putting a mixture of sugar and water into a vehicle's gas tank.

Gary L. Warner, 60, of 186 Elmwood Ave. Ext., was charged Thursday with third-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree stalking.

Police said officers went to 107 Forest St. on Dec. 5 because of a complaint a vehicle's gas tank was tampered with.

Police said a "good samaritan" advised a neighbor someone placed a substance into the gas tank.

Police said after an investigation, officers arrested Warner. Warner is accused of placing a mixture of sugar and water into the gas tank, police said. The mixture caused damage to the vehicle's fuel tank, fuel line, fuel filter and fuel pump, police said.

Warner was arraigned in City Court and sent to Fulton County Correctional Facility.
