Jennifer Charney, the daughter of Ronald and Mary Charney of Johnstown, was united in marriage to Erik Rockwell, the son of David and Jennifer Rockwell of Edinburg, at 3 p.m. July 28.

The outdoor ceremony took place at the Otesaga Resort Hotel, Cooperstown, Otsego County. The Rev. Michael H. Terrell officiated.

The bride was escorted by her father.

The maid of honor was Tracy Rockwell of Edinburg, sister of the bridegroom. The bridal attendants were Erin Cridland of Bayonne, N.J.; Kate Riley of Albany and Kelly Montanye of Mayfield, cousins of the bride. The flower girl was Willow Rose Terrell, daughter of the officiant.

The best man was Alex Rockwell of Edinburg, brother of the bridegroom. The groomsmen were Justin Sherman of Lassellsville and Ronald West of Edinburg, cousins of the bridegroom; and Gregory Ernst of Mayfield, cousin of the bride.

A reception for 180 guests took place immediately following the ceremony at the Otesaga Resort Hotel.

A wedding trip took place in Orlando, Fla. The couple resides in both Johnstown and Rochester, Monroe County.

The bride is a 2003 graduate of Johnstown High School; a 2006 graduate of the State University of New York at Geneseo, Livingston County, with a bachelor's degree in biology; and a 2008 graduate of Union Graduate College with a master's degree in education. She is employed as a science teacher at Northville Central School.

The bridegroom is a 2002 graduate of Northville Central School; a 2006 graduate of SUNY Oneonta, Otsego County, with a bachelor's degree in meteorology; and a 2012 graduate of SUNY Adirondack, Warren County, with an associate degree in computer networking. He is employed as a network support technician at Wegmans Food Markets, Rochester.
