Girls Basketball Roundup: Johnstown loses to Tamarac, 54-50

CROPSEYVILLE - Jenna Erickson scored 23 points to lead Tamarac to a 54-50 win over Johnstown in a non-league girls basketball game Tuesday.

Briana Matazinsky finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds for the Lady Bengals (2-0 overall).

Courtney Cirillo scored 15 to lead Johnstown (1-1 overall), while Alexis Swatt and Hope Cerasuolo each finished with eight points.

Catholic Central 64, Amsterdam 16

AMSTERDAM - Regan McFerran scored 20 points to lead Catholic Central to a win over Amsterdam in the Big 10 opener for both teams.

Cristiana Johnson scored six points to lead Amsterdam (1-1 overall, 0-1 Big 10).

Catholic Central improved to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in Big 10 play with the win.
