Eileen G. Bradt, 87 years old, passed away November 20 at Nathan Littauer Hospital with her loving companion and best friend Clarence by her side.
She left behind her best friend and companion that she was with for over 18 years, Clarence MacVean. They resided on Glebe Street in Johnstown. She has a step-son, Robert E "Chip" Bradt (Debora) and three grand children: Rachel, Corey and Melissa Bradt, all from Las Vegas. She has one brother, Kenneth Rockwell, from Mayfield. She also has her niece and nephew that helped take care of her, Kathy and Lee (Beaver) Bradt, from Gloversville. There are also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert E Bradt, in 1986; her brother, Donald Rockwell; and her sister, Patricia Lindsey. Her parents were Franklin and Charlotte Bradt of Gloversville.
She retired from Hawkins Fabric in Gloversville years ago.
She belonged to the VFW, Moose, the Adirondack CB club and several other organizations in the area. She loved to go out to dinner, play cards and dance. She loved life right up to the day she died. She always had a smile on her face and cracked some kind of joke when you talked to her, no matter how bad she felt. We are all going to miss her.
Eileen donated her body to Albany Medical College. To honor her wishes, there will be no viewing or services. There will be a private service in the future at the families convenience.
