St. JOE volleyball tops Mohawk, 3-1

MOHAWK - Ashley Hill had 14 assists, four aces and three digs to lead St. Johnsville/Oppenheim-Ephratah volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Mohawk in a Center State Conference contest Monday.

St. Johnsville/Oppenheim-Ephratah won by scores of 16-25, 25-20, 25-21 and 25-19.

Leann Knapp finished with seven aces, three kills, two blocks and two digs for St. Johnsville/Oppenheim-Ephratah (1-1 overall), while Shelby McCumber posted five kills, three digs and one block. Mackenzie Ferguson added four aces and four digs for St. Johnsville/Oppenheim-Ephratah.

Noel Newkirk had five digs, two aces and two kills for Mohawk (0-3 overall), while Cassidy Babcock posted nine aces. Megan Conner finished with three aces and two kills for the Mohicans, and Amanda Dahl added two kills and one block.

On Saturday, St. Johnsville/Oppenheim-Ephratah won the silver bracket of the St. Johnsville/Oppenheim-Ephratah Tournament.

Hamilton won the tournament and the gold bracket. Hamilton's Clara Jones was chosen as the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
