Onondaga Community College men's basketball player Tyler Wood, a Broadalbin-Perth graduate, was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Men's Basketball National Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 25. Wood, a 6' point guard, is the sixth Onondaga player ever to earn the distinction. Wood received the recognition on the strength of his outstanding performance in Onondaga's 119-85 victory over Schenectady County Community College on Nov. 20. In that game, he scored a career-best 22 points, connecting on 7 of 12 shots from the floor, including 3 of 5 from behind the three-point arc, and 5 of 9 free throws. He also handed out a career high nine assists without committing a turnover, and added five rebounds and two steals.
