GREENWICH - Kevin Shannon finished with a game-high 17 points to lead the Canajoharie boys basketball team to a 65-30 win over Waterford-Halfmoon in the opening round of the Greenwich Tournament on Friday.
Logan Sala and Zach Folts each scored 11 points for the Cougars (1-0 overall).
Josh Orton led Waterford with 11 points.
In the other first-round game, Greenwich routed Galway, 75-25.
Greg Scott scored 15 points to lead Greenwich, while John Stewart finished with 14 points. Colin Oswald and Calvin Williamson each finished with 12 points for the Witches.
Dan Diaz led Galway with seven points.
Greenwich will face Canajoharie in the championship game today at 4 p.m.

AMSTERDAM - Ralph Erickson and Elijah Burns combined for 50 points to power LaSalle past Amsterdam.
Erickson finished with 26 points for the Cadets, while Burns scored 24 points, including a 14-for-16 effort from the free-throw line.
Amsterdam had 12 different players score with William Carr leading the way with nine points. Luis LaBoy finished with eight points for the Rams.
Amsterdam (0-1 overall, 0-1 Big 10) will travel to Catholic Central on Tuesday.
