Bleecker board adopts 2013 budget

BLEECKER - The Town Board adopted a budget for 2013 at its meeting Nov. 21 that will increase the property tax rate by 1.18 percent.

According to information provided by the town, the property tax rate will increase by 3 cents in 2013 to a total of $2.29 per $1,000 of assessed property value. The property tax rate for 2012 is $2.26.

The fire tax rate also will increase by 2 cents in 2013 to a total of 60 cents to meet the annual 5 percent increase of the fire department, town Clerk Toni Johnson said.

The total amount of the proposed budget for the 2013 is $613,810.

The total amount of the tax levy for 2013 will be $223, 990. For 2012, the total tax levy is $220,472.

The sales tax budgeted for 2013 is $223,100.
