Ronald Stewart Swartout, "Ron," age 81, a 40 year resident of Severna Park, Md., died November 17, 2012, peacefully surrounded by his family. Ron was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Margaret "Peggy" A. Swartout. He was born October 20, 1931, in Gloversville, New York. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Germany until 1954. He returned home and graduated from Bowling Green University.
Ron worked for Hallmark Cards before opening his own shop, Portside in Annapolis, Maryland, with his wife, Peggy. He was an avid sailor and loved sailing the Chesapeake Bay.
He will be greatly missed by a multitude of dear friends and family. His survivors include his daughter, Lisa Scheetz and her husband, Randy, of Newark, Del; his son, Jeff Swartout and his wife, Kelly, of Annapolis Md.; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Galea of Johnstown, N.Y., and Virginia Reppenhagen of Gloversville, N.Y.; and his nieces and nephews; and five grandchildren, Jeremy, Jordin, Lauren, Anthony and Juliana.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 30, 2012, at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, Severna Park, MD, 21247.
