ALBANY - A state Senate race could be decided today as counting of absentee ballots resumes.
In the 46th Senate District, Democrat Cecilia Tkaczyk, of Duanesburg, trails by about 700 votes with more than 3,000 votes yet to be counted in her Ulster County stronghold.
Republican George Amedore, of Rotterdam, took the lead in earlier counting of absentee and paper ballots after being behind on election night.
The 46th Senate District includes all of Montgomery County.
