LeRoy ‘Roy’ ‘Sunny’ Thomas

LeRoy "Roy" "Sunny" Thomas, 80, of North Main Street, Mayfield, N.Y., passed away Friday, November 23, 2012, at Albany Medical Center Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Pownal, Vt. on June 19, 1932, a son of the late LeRoy Thomas and Agnes Briggs. He lived in Poestenkill, N.Y. for a time and then moved to Gloversville, N.Y. where he was educated and attended the former McNab School. Mr. Thomas was the owner and operator of the Thomas' Appliance Store in Ontario, California for many years. He was also the owner/operator of the former Thomas' Bar and Grill in Fonda, N.Y. which is now the Winner's Circle Restaurant. Roy was of the Christian faith and enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and listening to country music. Above all he loved life and all it had to give.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 42 years, Gloria Thomas of Mayfield, N.Y.; his daughter, Tammy Minicki and her husband, Andrew of Fonda, N.Y.; two stepdaughters, Christina Brown of California and Cherie Boyd and her husband, Bryan of Redmond, Oregon; grandchildren, James, Andrea and Marissa Minicki, Brendon and Christian Brown, and Allyson and Miranda Boyd. Roy was predeceased by two brothers, Grady and James Thomas.
