Broadalbin to have parade, tree-lighting

BROADALBIN - The Village of Broadalbin will hold its holiday parade Monday beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The holiday festivities will begin at 5 p.m. with Christmas caroling on the steps of Citizens Bank, live entertainment by Chris Cernak in the Village Market parking lot and vendors set up on Main Street.

Before the parade, a tree-lighting ceremony will start the event at 6:15 p.m. at Kenside Park.

The parade will begin at Broadalbin-Perth High School and follow through to Bridge Street, North Main Street, School Street, First Avenue, West Main Street and back up Bridge Street before ending back at Broadalbin-Perth High School.

Merchants along Main Street will remain open and offer free coffee and hot chocolate.

After the parade, families can visit the Masonic Temple to take their own pictures with Santa, and more coffee and hot chocolate will be available.

There will be a Toys for Tots drop off at Pizza Supreme.
