FMCC women lose to MVCC, 83-58

UTICA - Shaniece Brown scored 27 points to lead Mohawk Valley Community College to an 83-58 win over Fulton-Montgomery Community College in a Region III Division III women's basketball game Tuesday.

Stevie Ray added 11 points for Mohawk Valley (8-0 overall), while Sana Hafeez scored 10 points.

The Lady Vikings led 45-38 at the half before breaking the game open in the second half, outscoring the Lady Raiders 38-20.

Takima Lucky scored 19 points to lead FMCC, which suffered its first loss in seven games this season. Cheryl Osborne finished with 13 points and nine rebounds for the Lady Raiders.

3-point goals: FMCC 1 (Flowers); MVCC 5 (Brown 2, Brooks, Ray, Thomas).
