MORRISVILLE - Morrisville State College hosted two Intercollegiate Horse Show Association western invitational's on Sunday, with the hosts claiming reserve and high point team honors.
In the morning show, Morrisville State was edged by SUNY Cobleskill for high point team, as the Fighting Tigers registered 23 team points to the Mustangs 18.
The Mustangs had a strong showing in the intermediate western horsemanship II class, with Marybeth Allen of Fort Plain topping the competition for the blue ribbon.
Morrisville State dominated the afternoon show, earning high point team accolades behind a 32-point team showing, with blue ribbons in eight of 10 classes. Cobleskill was reserve high point team with 19.
Morrisville State returns to the riding arena Dec. 2, hosting a double show at the Swamp Road barn.
