FONDA-Montgomery County Acting Supreme Court Judge Guy P. Tomlinson has scheduled a recanvasing and audit of the votes in the 46th state Senate District while also setting guidelines for the counting of more than 9,000 absentee ballots.
"We believe in safeguarding and protecting the integrity of the voting process," said Kris Thompson, a spokesman for Republican George Amedore's campaign, in a news release. "We are confident that after every vote has been verified and counted, George Amedore will be the senator representing this five-county district."
The dates for the audit and recount are listed below and are subject to change:
Tuesday - Albany County, 9 a.m., and Schenectady County, to be determined.
Wednesday - Ulster County, 9 a.m., and Montgomery County, to be determined.
Thursday - Montgomery County continuation if necessary, 9 a.m.
Friday - Greene County, 9 a.m.
The absentee and affidavit process will begin on Nov. 19 with the following schedule:
Nov. 19 - Albany County, 9 a.m.
Nov. 20 - Greene County, 9 a.m.
Nov. 21 - Montgomery County, 9 a.m.
Nov. 26 -Schenectady County, 9 a.m.
Nov. 27 - Ulster County, 9 a.m.
Any absentee ballots that are contested will be set aside. Both sides will return to appear before Judge Tomlinson at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 28.
