Norman W. Bixby, 77, of Maston Road, Galway, died Thursday morning, November 8, 2012, at home.
He was born in Schenectady on November 25, 1934, a son of Harold and Eunice Hunt Bixby and was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School. Mr. Bixby later graduated from Morrisville Ag & Tech. He was a lifelong area resident.
Norman was employed as a mechanic for close to fifty years at Broadway Service in Schenectady and retired ten years ago.
He enjoyed gardening and blue grass music.
Norman was predeceased by a granddaughter, Leliana.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Easley Bixby, whom he married March 17, 1972; two sons, Harold Bixby of Clifton Park and Arthur (Amanda) Bixby of Dale; two daughters, Kathleen Bixby and Susan Webster, both of Broadalbin; a brother, Davis (Edna) Bixby of Broadalbin; a sister-in-law, Rosemarie Easley of Gloversville; three grandchildren, Sam, Christopher, and Jeanine; three great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Matthew, and Jiraiya; a close nephew, Paul Slegatis; as well as many other friends.
Cremation was performed at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. Arrangements are by the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home Inc., 111 County Highway 106, Johnstown.
