FONDA?- A member of the Montgomery County Industrial Development Agency will serve as interim treasurer after the resignation last month of Joseph Emanuele III.
Emanuele, who served as the treasurer after being selected for the position in January, tendered his resignation in October, according to IDA Chairwoman Carol Shineman.
Gene Richards, an IDA board member, volunteered to fill the position until January. According to Shineman, the IDA then will choose a permanent treasurer.
Emanuele served as mayor of Amsterdam from 2004 to 2007. He also taught mathematics at Fonda-Fultonville Central School, retiring in June.
He stayed on until October as the IDA's treasurer. IDA Director Ken Rose said he thinks Emanuele wanted to "retire completely."
Richards will only need to act as the treasurer for one meeting, scheduled in December.
