GLOVERSVILLE-City police said a man was arrested Monday on a warrant for striking a male victim in the head with a wooden pole during an incident on Park Street on Oct. 3.
Stephen M. Politsch, 19, of 16 Bloomingdale Ave., was charged with felony second-degree assault.
Police said the incident started as a dispute between Politsch and another man over a cigarette and a woman. Police said the other male left the area after the argument, but was later approached by Politsch, who was wielding a wood railing spindle. Politsch swung at the victim multiple times, police said, hitting him on the top of the head. The victim was transported to the hospital and treated, police said.
Politsch was processed and arraigned in City Court.
