I write this letter in support of Traci DiMezza, a candidate for Gloversville City Court judge.
I am supporting Mrs. DiMezza for many reasons. The first, and most important, is the fact that I like what she has to say. Traci talks about Gloversville. She talks about our courts, our justice system, what she will bring to the position of City Court judge, and why she thinks she's right for the position. She is informed, well-spoken and committed to making improvements to our city and to the court.
I also appreciate the fact that DiMezza's career has been spent outside the public sector. She has always separated herself from city politics and she has never held a city position. DiMezza doesn't have personal relationships with people in City
Hall or people on the Common Council. These things matter. Independence from partisan politics, and the ability to remain separate from personal favoritism, is what being a judge is all about. Judges are there to serve justice, not your friends or a political party.
And, to be honest, I have always appreciated how DiMezza ran a good, clean, campaign. She has stayed positive, on task and on message. Even when attacked, she keeps her composure and moves on with the business of Gloversville.
I think Gloversville needs someone exactly like Traci DiMezza, and I think it's time for change. Join me on Tuesday and vote for Traci DiMezza for Gloversville City Court judge.
