We have been so fortunate to have found so many wonderful homes for rescued cats and kittens over the past month. It is so appreciated when folks open their home to a cat or kitten in need, especially those who have had such a rough start in life. Sadly, some applications had to be turned down because we stick to pretty strict guidelines. These are little lives. Most of the cats and kittens that are fostered by me personally come in as special needs. I personally, to the best of my ability, want to make as sure as possible that their new home is a lifetime commitment and one that will always think of the health, well being and happiness of their adoption choice. That is also why I ask no questions if one has to be returned to me. I trust that decision is not being made lightly.
I still have four previously bottle-fed kittens that need homes. They are weaned, eating and pottying on their own, and now need another loving mom or dad to take over. Bottle-fed kittens make the most loving and well-adjusted cats. However, they may also require a little extra care.
Gloversville Cat Sanctuaries and Information Center will be holding its monthly adoption clinic/bake sale this coming Saturday at Tractor Supply in Gloversville. Come meet our bottle-feds along with some other 1-plus-year-olds that need their own lap to sit in. We still have three of the Wobbly Boys, two of the Trailer Park kitties and possibly some guest appearances of others in our area that need homes.
We will also be at the Amsterdam Tractor Supply Store on the third Saturday of every month. This month's clinic in Amsterdam will be Nov. 17.
Spread the word. Tell your friends. There are so many more cats and kittens in need of fostering and no room at the inn until we get more good adoptive homes. You can find us on Facebook. You can also friend me. There is only one Michelle Lautman on Facebook. Spell it right and you'll find me.
