Glenda Myers, 67, of Union St., Fultonville, went to be with the Lord early Sunday morning with her family at her side.
She was born in Danville, Virginia, on December 2, 1944. She was predeceased by her husband, William; her father, Thomas; and her sister, Jean. She is survived by her mother, Fannie (Granny); her daughters, Cheryl A. Myers (Michael) of Johnstown, N.Y. and Kelly L. Schrader (Lou) of Gloversville, N.Y.; her two sons, Michael W. Myers (Laura) of Concord, N.C. and William F. Myers Jr. (Stacie) of Endicott, N.Y.; her sisters, Shirley, Nelda (Nell) and Betty; her brothers, Elmer (Shorty) and Thomas (Tommy); as well as nine grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was employed by McDonald's in Fultonville for many years and most recently worked at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Johnstown. Glenda was best known for her southern accent, smile and charismatic nature. She lit up any room in which she was present. She loved animals, especially her dog, Missy and cat, Buddy. Glenda was a very charitable person who gave to many organizations including the Firemen's Benevolent Association as well as the Disabled American Veterans Fund. Glenda was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend who will be missed deeply by all those whose lives she touched.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St., Fultonville, N.Y. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, November 3, 2012, prior to the service from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to thank all the very special people who helped Glenda during her courageous battle with cancer.
