JOHNSTOWN -The Fulton County YMCA has announced sign-ups for youth basketball that will begin Nov. 12 and will run through Feb. 2.
Teams will practice one day a week and play Saturday games. The program is for boys and girls ages 7 to 9.
Games will be on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and practice times will be Mondays or Wednesdays from 6 to 7 p.m.
Players improve their skills through various drills, positive coaching and competition with their peers. The league promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, individual improvement and fun at all times. All players receive a free T-shirt and basketball. The cost for members will be $35 and $55 for non-members
Volunteer coaches are needed to run a successful league. Basic knowledge of basketball required however no prior coaching experience needed. The last day to register will be Saturday and there will be a free shoot-around from 10 a.m. to noon.
The first practice will take place Nov. 12.
