John Clo is not the right person for Gloversville City Court judge. If he were, he would not have been involved with former Gloversville Mayor Tim Hughes, who was in office when the Kinderhook Development housing project - being built right next to my home - was proposed.
My husband and I have lived in our home on Lee Avenue since 1960. We have always loved our location - the last house on a dead-end street. Since the new housing development project began, it is a totally different story. This project has caused a significant increase in traffic on my street, and will continue to increase when the residences are occupied. This project will affect busing, sidewalks, drainage, sewage, snowplowing, garbage pickup, and the list goes on and on. But I will have to continue to pay my high taxes, even though my whole neighborhood has changed.
I think the relationship between John Clo and our ex-mayor should be examined, and I think someone should be asking why these city officials would want this project in our backyards to begin with.
I love Gloversville and would like to continue to live in this city and in my home that I have had for over 50 years. But I think we need leadership in this city, and I think we need change. That's why I believe that we need to have someone in the City Court position that will help our city and make a change for the better.
On Election Day, my family and I will not be voting for John Clo. We will be voting for change.
